Message forwarded on behalf of Michael Gendron, government relations officer of the Canadian Police Association, regarding the CPA Federal Election Questionnaire.
Dear colleagues,
Please find attached the responses to a questionnaire that was circulated by the Canadian Police Association to all major political parties running candidates in the current 44th General Election. The responses are provided un-edited and with no editorial comment in order to provide information directly to our members to help them cast their ballot on Monday.
The questionnaire was circulated to the Liberal Party of Canada, the Conservative Party of Canada, the Bloc Quebecois, the New Democratic Party of Canada, the Green Party of Canada, and the People’s Party of Canada. Unfortunately, the Bloc Quebecois, the Green Party, and the People’s Party all indicated that they did not have the ability to respond within our deadline, so you will find the responses from the Liberal Party, the Conservative Party, and the New Democratic Party included.
It is important to note that these responses are prepared by the respective Party offices, and may, in some cases, not reflect discussions we have previously had with elected officials from each of the parties.
The CPA is proud of the relationships we have established with elected officials from all political parties, and we have always worked hard to maintain our non-partisan engagement with Parliamentarians. The information included comes directly from each of the parties themselves and should not be considered as an endorsement of any platform or party directly.
I hope you find this information helpful, and please feel free to circulate to your members. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
